Cult Classic 1990s Witch Movie Getting A Second Installment

Practical Magic, the beloved 1998 fantasy romantic drama film based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman, is getting a sequel. The original film starred Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as two sisters who are witches and must break a curse that has plagued their family for generations.

The sequel, which is currently in development, will be written and directed by Akiva Goldsman. Goldsman has previously written and directed films such as A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code, and Angels & Demons.

No casting announcements have been made yet, but it is expected that Bullock and Kidman will reprise their roles as Sally and Gillian Owens. The film is scheduled to be released in 2023.
